Us
We are actively creating a positive arts community by offering low-cost workshops for dancers, providing opportunities for emerging choreographers to show their work, and offering paid contracts to dancers, teachers, and choreographers. We hire and collaborate with artists from all backgrounds, ethnicities, and genders because we believe this creates resilience, understanding, and cooperation with our fellow artists and helps us all develop empathy and a wider understanding of the world we share.

Contemporary Dance Experience Workshop/Audition
The Contemporary Dance Experience Audition/Summer Intensive -
August 10th-12th, 2018
Come dance with Emotions Physical Theatre at our Contemporary Dance Experience Audition/Summer Intensive featuring nationally and internationally known teachers, choreographers, and companies. The Contemporary Dance Experience is a three day event where dancers take class with eight different choreographers in a variety of contemporary based styles. The purpose of the summer intensive is to help dancers find paid performance work through the connections they build with various choreographers. Past faculty have included teachers who've performed with Pilobolus, Bill T. Jones, Shen Wei, Catapult from America's Got Talent, and the Roxey Ballet. Optional afternoon seminars include how to market yourself as a dancer and how to turn dance into a career. Build your network, audition for several companies at once, and get seen by eight different choreographers. Emotions Physical Theater uses this workshop as an audition for work with the company. Auditions
We generally hire dancers after seeing them in one of our workshop/auditions. Private auditions can be arranged for dancers outside the NYC area. Please contact us for more information.
